Magnetic resonance charging could fundamentally change how we interact with our electronic devices, providing freedom to charge without scouring for outlets or aligning pads. A scalable, AI-driven system senses nearby devices and provides the correct amount of power to keep them fully charged, without the need for any cables or clutter.

Sprout Studios was approached by a Northeastern startup, Deepcharge, to create a suite of products for their flagship resonance charging system. I acted as the design lead for this project, directing sketches, leading client interactions, and providing final models and images.

This was our second scope of work with Deepcharge, so we we produced a range of VBLs ranging from ‘Mild’ to ‘Wild’, some matching their existing products and some pushing in a new direction.
There were three major considerations to ensure a viable product: Adequate thermal ventilation, robust mounting options, and a slim form to prevent being bumped / knocked from under tables. We worked with the client to find a direction that excelled in each of these areas.
