Razor Saver
Consulting : New Product Development
While most assume that razor blades become dull just from cutting hair, the majority of razors are still just as sharp on their 20th shave as as they were on the first.
Instead, razors begin to feel dull as a result of wear on their low-friction coating. This allows the blades to stick to your face and to tug as you shave.
This wear is the result of two major factors: Oxidization, and Wiping.
Oxidization occurs when razors are allowed to remain wet, corroding the blades and their coatings. Most of us intuitively realize this is bad, and try to wipe our blades dry. While this dries the blades, our cloths and towels scrape away the blade coatings, making them feel duller than they are.
We could save money and reduce our environmental impact if we could extend the life of our razors, but how…?
